King Abdallah Ben Abdelaziz of Saudi Arabia arrived in Morocco on Saturday where he is convalescing after surgery late November last year in New York, USA, according to official sources. The monarch, 86, arrived in Casablanca, Southern Morocco, where he is expected to continue his physiotherapy and convalescence, the sources said.
There is no detail about his state of health or the duration of his stay in Morocco.
The crown prince, who is the Minister of Defence, Prince Sultan Ben Abdelaziz, half-brother of the king, was treated for cancer in 2008 and 2009 in the USA.
Several kings and emirs from countries of the Gulf regularly make private visits to Morocco where they own several residences and villas.
