The Moroccan government is about to invest more than 11 million euros for the development of the dates’ supply chain, providing modernization of structures and training of farmers.
The dates supply chain in Morocco will receive a development funding for a value exceeding 11.7 million euro. The regions concerned are located in different areas of the country: they include Ouazarzate (south-central region), Errachidia (center), Tata (south-center), Guelmim (south-west) and Figuig (east).
The project – which covers a total extent of 37,800 hectares of plantations – provides for the modernization of traditional irrigation systems, training of farmers and technical assistance, besides the construction of facilities for product processing and preservation.
